So why “The Loudmouth Librarian”? Because, when I work with teens, I tend to get loud and excited – to the point that I’ve been “shushed” by my fellow librarians! I can’t help it. I love my job. 🙂
I’m a writer and Teen Librarian in the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. I have a BA in English and Creative Writing from Florida Southern College and an MFA in Writing for Children and Young Adults from Vermont College of Fine Arts. I taught high school English and Reading for six years before switching over to librarianship.
I’m currently pursuing my MLIS online at Valdosta State University. I love working with children, tweens, and teens and making them feel at home! If you’d like to learn more, feel free to check out my resume.
Any opinions expressed on this blog are my own and not those of my employers or any organizations I belong to.
A note to authors and publishers:
I would love to review your book, share guest posts, or interview you on my blog. Any book copies or ARCs I receive will be passed on for giveaways or Teen Summer Reading prizes. For more information, please feel free to email me at theloudmouthlibrarian@gmail.com.
As a newbie teen services librarian, I love your blog! Thank you for sharing all your ideas.
Thanks, Rhea! That means a lot. I’m a little behind on posting, but I’m trying to catch up! Thanks for visiting. 🙂
Two other great blogs are Teen Services Underground and Teen Librarian Toolbox. They have tons of great ideas too!
